Kristopher (Kris) Humpert is a Senior Petroleum Engineer with over 15 years of experience in upstream oil and gas operations, specializing in production optimization, field development, and capital-efficient asset management. He is currently a Senior Petroleum Engineer at Gunn Oil Company, where he has played a key role since 2014 in managing the production, performance, and profitability of a diverse portfolio of operated wells.

At Gunn Oil, Kris is responsible for full-cycle reservoir and production engineering, including drilling and completion planning, workover and recompletion design, AFE preparation and execution, regulatory compliance, and plug-and-abandon candidate selection. He works closely with field operations to implement cost-reduction initiatives, optimize lift and injection strategies, and maximize recovery while maintaining a strong focus on safety and operational discipline.

Prior to Gunn Oil, Kris served as a Production Engineer with Hunt Oil Company, where he was instrumental in the design and execution of downhole production and injection equipment for the implementation of a new CO₂ flood. During his tenure, he also identified and executed targeted stimulation programs that materially increased net profitability, demonstrating a data-driven approach to production optimization and capital deployment.

Earlier in his career, Kris worked as a Petroleum Engineer with Willowbend Investments, providing completion consulting, well evaluations, and field supervision across multiple unconventional shale plays, including the Barnett, Woodford, Eagle Ford, Marcellus, and Utica. He began his career as a Frac Field Engineer with Halliburton, gaining hands-on experience in hydraulic fracturing operations, quality control, and post-treatment analysis.

Kris holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from Texas Tech University. He brings a practical, operations-focused engineering mindset, combining technical rigor with field experience to deliver measurable results across drilling, completions, production, and asset management.
