Hunter Carr

Hunter Carr is a Tyler, Texas native and a second-generation geologist who serves as Vice President of Carr Resources, Inc., an independent oil and gas exploration and production company, bringing more than a decade of experience in the industry. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Georgia and a Master’s degree in Petroleum Geology from the University of Houston.

With experience spanning petroleum and geothermal geology, business development, and operations, Hunter focuses on representing independent operators and ensuring their practical, on-the-ground perspectives are reflected in state and federal policy discussions. He currently serves as Chairman of the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers and is President of the East Texas Geological Society, with prior leadership service in regional and statewide industry organizations.

Outside of his professional work, Hunter enjoys traveling, golf, hunting, and shotgun sports, and values time with his wife Jackie and their two children.
