Texas Alliance of Energy Producers Approves New Board Chair Jason Herrick 

E&P executive begins two-year term with Texas oil and gas association for independents

AUSTIN, Texas (Jan. 30, 2024)—The Texas Alliance of Energy Producers (the Alliance) has confirmed Jason Herrick as its new board chairman. Herrick is the president of Pantera Energy Company, a family-owned exploration and production company headquartered in Amarillo. 

"Texas oil and gas producers wake up every day and work diligently to provide energy security for our nation and drive the value for our economy," said Herrick. "I am proud of the work that the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers does on their behalf and look forward to my time on the leadership team."

Herrick has experience leading oil and gas associations as well as nonprofits. For the past two years, he has served as the Railroad Commission representative to the Texas Energy Reliability Council. Further, he currently serves as an executive member of the RANGE, an agricultural centric regional development engine.  

He has previously served terms as president of Amarillo Area Foundation, Don Harrington Discovery Center, Center City of Amarillo, the Panhandle Producers and Royalty Association, Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Texas Panhandle Regional Economic Development Corporation, as well as leadership roles in several other area nonprofits.  

"Jason is an outstanding advocate for our industry, and the Alliance is fortunate to have someone with such expertise and drive as our new board chair," said Karr Ingham, Interim President of the Alliance. "His work as a member and vice chair has already been invaluable to our association. We look forward to working with him to advance the Alliance mission on behalf of Texas independent oil and gas producers over the next two years."

Prior to Pantera, Herrick helped start e2i, a small consulting firm based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He established business offices in Amsterdam and London while working with large banking clients ING and BBL on procurement management systems. 

Early in his career, Herrick worked for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in Dallas where he specialized in procurement and materials management for clients such as CITGO in Tulsa, Minyards in Dallas, and Mrs. Smith’s Bakery in Atlanta. Jason graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering.
